In his speech, Prabowo regretted that many ruling elites in Jakarta did not understand the struggle of the Indonesian people in East Timor. In fact, according to him, the Indonesian people in East Timor have sacrificed to give up their lives, families and property to defend the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Many of the elites in Jakarta do not understand that you don't understand the struggles and sacrifices of all of you.
